March 11th - Spring is here! It feels like spring;
finally. The temperatures are now in the mid 80's this is
what we like. The lake is on the rise and the bass are on
their spring break to the flats along with the carp, tilapia
and bream. Water temperature has been in the mid 60's to
almost 70 degrees. The fish are getting more aggressive.
Small crankbaits, big flukes and yum dingers are the baits
to use. Shallow bite is on, but post spawn bass are in 12 to
25 feet of water. The lake level is at 290.61 feet. We've
had some windy days, but this is typical March for Falcon.
Come down and spend a few days fishing here you will not
regret it. Stop by the store for more info. and tips. Thanks
and 'til next time.

March 8th - The water level at Falcon Lake is at 290.32
ft. and the water temperature has been steady at 59 degrees.
Yesterday it got to 62 degrees. This time last year the
water was up to 68 degrees. Best fishing pattern is still
points and ledges, but we might have a good wave of fish
come in shallow this next few days. This morning the
temperature outside is 65 degrees and it is going to be in
the mid 80's. Finally we had a good spinnerbait bite slow
rolling bumping bottom for big fish. Mag Flukes, Lake Fork
swimbaits, and Reaction Innovation Skinny Dippers as
trailers on the spinnerbaits were working real good. Also
Trick worms, brush hogs and senkos Carolina rigged gets some
good fish shallow. Amistad is releasing water and Falcon is
coming up until the irrigation in the valley starts. Rick
Elder and long time friend Tracy Matthews fished with us
last week and had an excellent day with fish up to 11 lbs.
and lots of 5 to 7 lb range.
Until next time and we apologize for the delay in the
reports had some problems with the website. Thanks again and
good fishing!!!

March 2nd - Water level at Falcon Lake is at 289.87 ft.
and water temperature today is 59 to 61 degrees. High winds
and fronts along with high pressures have kept fish in a
stand by mode. Some fish have spawned, but the weather has
delayed the event. Still catching fish in 1 to 3 ft of water
in back of deeper creek channels. Post spawn fish can be
caught on main lake points and along shore lines close to
some kind of flooded brush. Old brush line is about at 271
water level which positions it at about 12 to 18 ft. of
water. Lipless crankbaits and mag flukes will work the best.
March is the start of spring, and the big ones will be
active chasing tilapia and bream.
Thanks again and we welcome everyone visiting us from all
over.
